Adobe has updated Lightroom to version 6.2 for perpetual users and CC 2015.2 for Creative Cloud users.
Lightroom CC 2015.2 adds Dehaze as a Local Adjustment, which allows you to use it with the Radial Filter, Graduated Filter and Local Adjustment Brush. Note that Lightroom 6.2 does not get this new feature. It is only for Creative Cloud subscribers at this time.
Both new desktop versions of Lightroom get a redesigned Import experience with the following process now the steps for importing photos:
- Select a Source: There is a new “Add Photos” screen which scans to identify the potential locations for photos on your hard drive. You can also easily select from a folder, a connected camera (via USB cable), a memory card, external hard drive, or Photoshop Elements catalog.
- Select images: The Import Dialog has been redesigned. Your source will already be selected (you choose it in step 1) so you can specify which images to import. We recommend importing all.
- Choose any import settings (optional): While there isn’t a need to change the default settings, you can open the gear icon (on the top right) to adjust and change import settings.
- Hit the import button.
Importing from Photoshop Elements is also improved, which allows you to select an Elements catalog from the Add Photos screen.
Lightroom 6.2 gets RAW file support for the following cameras:
- DxO ONE (no SuperRAW support)
- Leica S (Typ 007)
- Olympus E-M10 Mark II
- Sony A7S II
The Leica M Monochrom is now supported for tethered capture in Lightroom 6.2. Additionally, there are a number of new lens profiles added to Lightroom 6.2, as well as several bug fixes for both desktop versions.
The updates are available via the Creative Cloud app or the update menu in Lightroom 6.
