Blackmagic Design has released a final version of DaVinci Resolve 12. Both the Standard and Studio versions are available.
The Standard version remains free, while the Studio version runs $995.
I’ve been working in Resolve 12 when I have time to spare on a project and really like the power that it offers. It is a full-fledged NLE now, in addition to being a state-of-the-art color correction and grading tool.
If you have a machine that is capable of running Resolve 12, I definitely recommend downloading the Standard version and giving it a shot. The NLE side of it will instantly remind you of FCP X but you get the advantage of having real tracks to work with. Most of us don’t need the options that the Studio version offers but those who do need it already know they do.
Check it out here on Blackmagic’s website.
