Nikon has updated its entry-level line of DSLRs with the new D3400 DSLR, which features a familiar 24.2MP DX-format CMOS sensor and adds SnapBridge for easier connectivity to mobile devices.

Nikon SnapBridge uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to create an “always on” connection with a compatible smart device to facilitate quick and easy sharing of images. This is a crucial area that camera manufacturers need to nail in order to keep users shooting with higher-end cameras instead of the their phone.
The new Nikon D3400 kits will ship in September 2016, starting at $649.95.
Along with the D3400, Nikon also unveiled four new lenses for DX cameras:
- AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR ($249.95 SRP)
- AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ($199.95 SRP)
- AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR ($399.95)
- AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED ($349.95)
The new AF-P 18-55mm VR and 70-300mm non-VR lenses will also be available in D3400 kits at launch next month.
