Sony RX10 III Unveiled with 24-600mm Zoom Lens

Sony RX10 III

Sony has introduced a third camera in the RX10 lineup and adds an incredible zoom lens for massive telephoto reach. The Sony Cyber RX10 III features the same 1″ format 20MP sensor as found in the RX10 II but uses a new 24-600mm equivalent f/2.4-4 lens for the added reach (as compared to the 24-200mm f/2.8 equivalent lens on the RX10 II).

The RX10 III also captures 4K video at up to 30 fps and 1080p video at up to 120 fps using Sony’s solid XAVC-S format. It also offers clean HDMI output for use with external recorders. Additionally, the RX10 III can capture super slow motion video at up to 960fps. I’ve got an overview of how these 4K, XAVC-S and slow motion features work in my Sony RX100 IV Review.

The RX10 III features a 9-blade diaphragm for smooth, circular bokeh and offers a 3-stop ND filter built-in. You can also switch lens aperture ring from clickless (for video) to clicked (for photos).
