Google’s Nikon Collection Just Dropped from $150 Down to FREE!

Nik Collection

The Nik Collection of photo editing plug-ins from Google is now free.

The software suite once sold for $500. Once Google acquired it, the price dropped down to $150. In a statement released today, Google noted:

As we continue to focus our long-term investments in building incredible photo editing tools for mobile, including Google Photos and Snapseed, we’ve decided to make the Nik Collection desktop suite available for free, so that now anyone can use it.

Reading between the lines, I don’t know that we’ll be seeing any major updates for professionals and serious enthusiasts going forward. For now though, the Nik Collection is still a solid package for professional image editing.

Google says that customers who have purchased the Nik Collection in 2016 will receive a full refund, which will be automatically issued back to customers in the coming days.

The Nik Collection includes:

  • Analog Efex Pro
  • Color Efex Pro
  • Silver Efex Pro
  • Viveza
  • HDR Efex Pro
  • Sharpener Pro
  • Dfine
