Why I picked this image: Besides the symmetry that was used for the composition of this image, there is also a strong documentary story captured in this one image. On the one side we see a woman in a modern jacket that covers her hair and face for religious believes. And on the other side we see a woman’s face portrait in a large advertisement totally uncovered.
This image manages to show and document the visual appearance of cultural differences within one image. I could see this as an opening image for a photo documentary about different cultural lifestyles in our society.
