Photo of the day: Symmetry

Category: Street.

Photograph: “Symmetry” by Alessio Orrù (username “Alessio Orrù” on Flickr).

Why I picked this image: This image caught my attention because it combines nice symmetry with a human element. Judging by the shadows this image was captured on a sunny day. But due to underexposure and maybe the use of a color filter (digital or analog) the image has strong contrast with a nice grey gradient in the sky.

Due to this process the image has developed a mood of solitude and loneliness and thus starts to tell a story and carries emotions for me.

Great job on your vision of what you wanted the scene to look like when you captured this image Alessio. You have created a beautiful piece of art.
