Sony introduced the new HDR-AS50 action cam at CES 2016 last week. It feeatures an 11.1MP CMOS sensor and captures 1080/60p footage using the solid XAVC S codec for bitrates up to 50Mbps. It will also capture 720p video at 120fps.
The camera also includes SteadyShot image stabilization and is compatible with a new smaller Live-View Remote. The camera can also connect wirelessly to mobile devices using the PlayMemories Mobile app.
The AS50 ships with an underwater housing that is certified down to 197′ and has a very reasonable price tag of about $200. The Sony AS50 is also sold in a kit with the new Live-View Remote for about $350. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
