A CCTV camera along a highway in Canada has taken a rare image that many wildlife photographers spend their lifetime trying to capture.
Quebec’s transport minister Robert Poëti tweeted images taken by a Transport Quebec CCTV camera showing a staggeringly close snowy owl in flight.
“An impressive solo was captured in full flight by the surveillance cameras of the road network on highway 40… in the west of the island of Montreal,” Poëti said.
Wildlife experts suggested the curious owl was attempting to perch on the camera to watch for prey in surrounding fields.
The camera managed to record a sequence of images as the owl circles the post and attempts to land.
