Project 366, Day 3: Cooking from scratch

I find it difficult to muster up the enthusiasm to do such a thing most days, but I do love how the inside of a red onion looks. My macro lens is my best friend when I’m photographing food, and I’m sure I’ll use it again when I do another food week later in the year.

This was another simple set up. I set my camera and lens on a tripod, with the camera directly pointed down at the sliced onion. I set to a narrow aperture (f/8) and a low ISO as I wanted to get the most detail possible.

I used my remote release to fire the shutter, to reduce camera shake as quite a long shutter speed was required.
