If you needed more evidence that Fuji has created a monster film product, look no further than the fact that a twin pack of Fuji Instax Mini Instant Film was the best seller during the Holidays at Amazon.com.
The next two products in line were the GoPro HERO4 Silver and a cheap AmazonBasics headstrap for GoPro cameras.
Fuji’s Instax Mini 8 remains a very hot seller in Amazon’s Camera & Photo category, as does the HERO4 Silver. Amazon lists the different colors of the Mini 8 camera as separate items on its Best Sellers’ list, so I wonder if collective Mini 8 products would have overtaken the GoPro HERO4 Silver as a best seller if they were counted together. My guess is that they would.
I have had more people ask me about film cameras this year than anytime since Photography Bay started over 9 years ago. The success of the Instax camera is not a fad and it is not going away anytime soon. I’m a huge fan of the Instax line personally but I prefer the larger Instax Wide format from cameras like the Fuji Instax 210.
The Instax line is just another example of Fujifilm doing it right and being in tune with the photo consumers and enthusiasts. Look for the instant film trend to continue to be a big market in 2016 with competitors like Polaroid’s Snap joining the fray.
