Tokina has announced the new AT-X 14-20mm f/2 PRO DX lens in Japan for Canon and Nikon APS-C mounts.
Rivaling the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 in the “wide & bright” category, the new lens is the first Tokina lens with a max f/2 aperture. It is constructed of 13 lens elements in 11 groups and features a 9-blade aperture and an 82mm filter size.
It weighs in at 735g and retails for ¥120,000 (about $1000 USD), although there is no official word on US pricing yet. The lens is scheduled for release on February 5, 2016 for Canon mount and in early March 2016 for Nikon mount.
