There are lots of sites publishing lists of inexpensive gifts for photographers. But what about those of you who had a good year and who want to share the love with your favorite photographer?
Here’s your list…
These five items are high-end gifts that just about any photographer would enjoy. They are priced between $120 and $1100 and no matter what kind of gear your photographer has now, they’re going to want one or all of these.
In no particular order:
Here my top five recommended high-end holiday gifts for photographers.
1. The Lensbaby Velvet
Easily one of my favorite newish products. The Lensbaby Velvet 56 offers everything from an artistic, soft 56mm (FF) lens to a macro that does super sharp images. It comes in a variety of camera mounts and can be used by almost anyone who owns any interchangeable lens camera. It’s a very special lens that I use every week. It’s not like any Lensbaby that came before it. And if you buy one for the photographer on your list you will make them VERY happy. Read more about the Lensbaby Velvet 56 here.

2. Peak Design Everyday Messenger Bag
My pal Trey Ratcliff worked with Peak Design to put together this amazing sling-style camera bag that can double as a computer bag or even a small overnight bag. I received one of the first production models and reviewed it. If you want a can’t miss gift for any photographer, the Everyday Messenger Bag is it – read my review here.
3. Photo Workshop From Arizona Highways
There are lots of photography workshop companies in the USA but as far as I know, AHPW is the oldest, and certainly one of the best. They are a non-profit dedicated to making every photographer who comes to their events a success. They have a variety of locations and cater to all sorts of photography styles. Their strong suit is landscape followed by portrait photography but also offer digital imaging classes, even macro classed. I’ve attended two of their workshops and they were some of the best I’ve ever been on. You can’t go wrong here. Any photographer would be thrilled to find a gift certificate to this place in their stocking.

4. Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan
Most serious photographers use Adobe Photoshop and/or Lightroom. Both are now available as a subscription for as little as $9.99 a month, depending on how big the bundle goes. 90% of all photographers who use this system can get away with just the Photography bundle at $9.99 a month. It’s a surefire hit with anyone who has a camera because as of this writing, for many people, this is the holy grail. It’s also the least expensive thing on my list.

5. Fuji X100T
Easily one of my favorite cameras in the world, the Fuji X100T is the perfect carry anywhere camera that delivers professional quality images. No matter what brand of camera your photographer uses, this camera will compliment or round out any shooter’s gear needs by providing a compact, fixed lens device that offers optimal image capability and which can be operated as an automatic point and shoot or a very serious, fully manual pro camera. Read more about the Fuji X100T here.
Conclusion
Everyone who reads this site loves photography. If you’re someone who loves a photographer and wants to make this day, you can’t go wrong with any of the gear listed here. Happy holidays.
