Travel Photographer of the Year 2015 winners revealed

Dutch photographer Marsel van Oosten has won the overall Travel Photographer of the Year 2015 award.

Marsel beat out thousands of other entries from more than 110 countries with his black and white portfolio of eight images shot in Louisiana. Along with the other winners from 22 countries, Marsel’s portfolio will be on display at The Museum of London Docklands over the summer of 2016.

Other winners included Chinese amateur photographer, Xia Xuejun, in the portfolio category, while Australian Scott Portelli and British photographer Timothy Allen shared the award for Best Single Image in a Monochromal portfolio.

Mitchell Kanashkevich of the United States won Faces

Mitchell Kanashkevich of the United States won Faces, People, Encounters, while British photographer James Morgan won first prize in Nature and Environment.

Chase Guttman from the United States won the Young Travel Photographer of the Year 2015 award

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Chase Guttman from the United States won the Young Travel Photographer of the Year 2015 award. Fellow American Spencer Cox (age 17) won Young the TPOTY 15-18 category, while 13-year-old Indonesian Michael Theodric won Young TPOTY 14 and Under for the second year in a row.

Uli Kunz won A Moment in Light

In the single image categories, Dutch photographer Jasper Doest won Water, while German Uli Kunz won A Moment in Light and Larry Louie of Canada took top honours in Colours of the World.

The inaugural iCaptured category, for mobile phone photography, was won by Italian Edgard de Bono for his image taken in Benin on an iPhone 5S.

Finally, Doctor Zhu Jingyi, from China, won the New Talent prize for his street photographs from Jiangsu.
