San Diego is out last Photowalk of 2015. I hope you’ll come join Erika Thornes and me for a fun evening making pictures of the city, people, and whatever we can find. It’s the best way to practice and make new friends, as well. If you’ve got friends interested in a no pressure shooting practice, bring ’em along. I’m happy to share all the tools I know, and others will give you hand up, too. I recommend a tripod, but it’s not strictly necessary. We’ll practice some fun techniques to add to your tool box, and maybe head out for a bite to eat afterward.
This is a hands-on shooting time when you can practice various techniques, like dragging the shutter, long exposures, and light placement for the most flattering portraits. All skill levels are welcome!
Here are some pictures I’ve made during other photowalks.
We’re really pleased to team up with Perfectly Clear for this event. This is a free event, and we’ve got several raffle prizes, including a license to Perfectly Clear. The photowalk is a hands-on shooting time: bring your camera and tripod with fresh batteries and empty memory card, and speedlights if you’d like some practice with those. I’ll be using Perfectly Clear with Lightroom and Photoshop to finish my pictures, later, and I encourage you to download the free trial and give it a shot and see how it can make a big impact on your work (they’re our sponsor, after all).
When
Monday, December 14th, 2015 at 8:00pm.
Where
Let’s meet at Embarcadero Marina Park South by the basketball courts, and we’ll walk and shoot from there. This link is the address.
What to Bring
Bring your camera with fresh batteries and memory cards. I’ll use speedlights, and I’ll definitely use a tripod. I’ll be searching for both portraits and cityscapes. The weather looks terrific, but bring a jacket. Remember to bring a fun attitude, too 😀
Levi Sim is passionate about making photographs and helping others make their pictures better, too. Join him on Twitter and Instagram (@PhotoLevi), read more of his articles here, and join him for a photowalk in a city near you.
