iOS 9.2 Enables Lightning to USB Camera Adapter for iPhone

iPhone-SD-Card-Adapter

With iOS 9.2, Apple has enabled iPhone support for the USB Camera Adapter and the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader for getting your photos on your iPhone’s camera roll. When you insert an SD card into the reader, your iPhone will automatically open the Photos app and allow you to import photos or videos.

Per Apple, “The Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader supports standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, along with SD and HD video formats, including H.264 and MPEG-4. It supports data transfer at up to USB 3 speeds on iPad Pro, and up to USB 2 speeds on all other iPad and iPhone models.”

Compatible models include the iPhone 5 and newer. It also works with the iPad models that have a Lightning port. The Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader is $29 and is available at Apple Stores and Apple.com. You can also find it here at B&H Photo.

The USB Camera Adapter is also $29 and available at Apple Stores and Apple.com. You can also find it here at B&H Photo.
