The camera includes built-in NFC and WiFi for connectivity to Android and iOS devices. Additionally, the 3-inch touchscreen display can tilt 180 degrees for selfie photos.

“This is the camera for the social media generation, including those who love to take and share high-quality photos and video while on the go. It will help them make the transition to a dedicated, high-quality digital camera, because of its mobile compatibility and creative options,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, president and COO, Canon U.S.A., Inc.

On the spec side of things, the EOS M10 features no surprises and headed up by the trusty 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor with which Canon shooters are familiar. It also features a DIGIC 6 image processor and Canon’s highly-regarded Hybrid CMOS AF II continuous AF system that allows the camera to capture up to 4.6fps. The EOS M10 will capture 1080p video at 24p and 30p frame rates in MP4 format.
