Yuneec has announced a new drone for mirrorless cameras and other compact cameras that are a bit larger than GoPro and other small action cameras. The Yuneec Tornado H920 features six rotors and can is compatible with the Panasonic GH4 and Sony A7R II using the 360-degree panorama capable GB603 gimbal.
The Tornado H920 aircraft features an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber frame, retractable landing gear, folding arms and 5-Motor failsafe mode. It also has the capability to hold three rechargeable batteries, which will provide flight time of up to 42 minutes depending on payload.
The Tornado H920 ships with the ST24 personal ground station, which is a 24-channel all-in-one transmitter powered by an Android operating system and features a 7-inch touchscreen that displays telemetry data and a built-in flight simulator. It also includes the Proaction grip for mounting the gimbal into a handheld grip and working as a fully functional handheld gimbal.
Alongside the Tornado H920, Yuneec also announced the CGO4 gimbal camera. It is specifically developed for the Tornado H920 hexacopter and incorporates the same Micro Four Thirds sensor that’s found in the Panasonic GH4, along with a 3x optical zoom lens, an integrated 5.8 GHz video link and housed within a 3-axis gimbal system.
The ready-to-fly (RTF) Tornado H920 package includes a travel case, the ST24 personal ground station, Proaction grip for stable ground footage, two batteries and a premium two-port charger for the suggested retail price of $4999.99. It should be shipping soon. B&H Photo carries Yuneec drones.
