LG is giving three people the chance to win their dream photo and video editing workstation. Each winning entry for the UltraWide Festival 2015 will receive $10,000 in sponsorship to splash on the IT devices of their choice, as well as receiving one of LG’s impressively proportioned 34UC87C 12:9 displays.
The UltraWide Festival is a global celebration of technology organised by LG, and takes place across YouTube and social networks this autumn and winter. The theme for 2015 is ‘Dream Setup’, with the focus on building the best digital setup for your needs.
To take part and submit your application for one of the $10,000 sponsorships, you’ll need to create a photo or video that shows off your current computer gear setup and upload it to a Social Networking Site of your choice.
It’s then a simple case of visiting the official website www.ultrawidefestival.com, linking the URL of your post to your application and describing your Dream Setup.
The deadline for entries is Sunday 27 September, so you’ll need to be sharp with your submission! The organisers are looking for imaginative and distinctive entries, and with the camera know-how and creativity of Digital Camera World readers that shouldn’t be a problem…
If you’re selected as one of the 30 semi-finalists, you’ll be provided with an LG 34UC87C UltraWide Curved Monitor to review and then produce a video for YouTube highlighting how you would incorporate it in your current setup.
From these videos, three overall winners will be selected by a panel of three technology-focused YouTubers. Each expert will then team up with one of the winners to help them compile a Dream Setup with their $10,000 sponsorship.
At the end of the festival there’ll be an UltraWide Offline Ceremony held in Vancouver, Canada, with the three winners, the trio of YouTube stars and a dozen guest fans receiving an all-inclusive travel package to take them there.
The winners will also pick up a new LG 34UC87C monitor as part of their prize. This 34-inch UltraWide display offers an expansive 12:9 aspect ratio, giving 2.4 times more working room than a 16:9 Full HD screen.
The additional real estate enables you to free up your Photoshop workspace, or keep other programs and social media accounts open alongside your editing area without having to constantly shift windows around.
With its curved screen, the LG 34UC87C offers a more immersive editing experience, while the QHD IPS (In-plane switching) panel promises a wider viewing angle and accurate colours.
